Learning to let go


Enlightened firms nowadays understand the importance of relaxing rules about where employees do their work—whether at home, the office or elsewhere. In the future, they will have to learn to relax management rules about how employees do their jobs. It may go against the grain, but tomorrow's bosses will have to share management responsibility with other members of their staff for the sake of productivity.

I think employers will have to offer a very wide range of benefits, starting from pension to private health insurance to gym membership etc.

What really seems to get people to stay on board is to give them shares in the company they work for - its gives you the feeling you are working for your own benefit.

Apart from benefits it is in general just perspectives that keep you in a job. You grow in your work and if there is no perspektive for your future in the company you look for a new job.
Of course benefits can make you live better but there has to be some kind of developement in own´s job life. If it is a better position or workshops to keep you up to date...

I think feeling valued and part of the team is very imporant in making an employee loyal to his/her company. I would say motivation together with a sense of direction/purpose is more important than benefits. After all, you'll always find a company that offer better benefits.
