A message from Shell on the debate

Shell is a global group of energy and petrochemicals companies that operates in more than 140 countries and territories. The aim of the Shell Group is to meet the energy needs of society, in ways that are economically, socially and environmentally viable, now and in the future. This aim is underpinned by the core values of honesty, integrity and respect for people that sit at the heart of Shell, defining the organisation and how it works.

Shell's strategy and priorities for the future are regaining upstream strength and delivering downstream profits; improving performance across all its activities; and a focus on creating what it calls an 'Enterprise First' culture. When considering strategic and operational issues and how best to plan for the future, Shell listens to the views of a vast array of experts and stakeholders. Through sharing these views via online forums, Shell hopes to stimulate debate and help others to benefit from this thinking.
